After learning about the water cycle and the importance of water, our first graders brainstormed ways to save water. Here are some of their ideas:
- Only take as much water as you need.
- Don’t pour water down the drain or on the ground.
- Use extra water to make ice.
- Save water to drink later.
- Pour extra water out over a plant.
- Pour extra water into a pet’s water bowl.
- Turn the water off when washing your hands or face or teeth.
- Use less water in the bathtub.
- Take shorter showers.
- Collect water in the shower to water your plants.
- Don’t flush the toilet every time.
- Don’t splash water out of the pool.
- Remind other people not to waste water!
