Congratulations to our middle school students who entered the National History Day competition. TCS submitted four projects and won:

  • Best Use of Primary Sources: Apartheid: The Legal Discrimination in South Africa by Roland and Kourosh
  • SDSU Department of History Outstanding Research and Writing Award: Kennedy’s Choice: Conflict and Compromise in the Cuban Missile Crisis by Lila
  • San Diego Public Library Award: Kennedy’s Choice: Conflict and Compromise in the Cuban Missile Crisis by Lila
  • Honorable Mention in Category: Apartheid: The Legal Discrimination in South Africa by Roland and Kourosh
  • Honorable Mention in Category: The Berlin Wall by Ariston
  • Category Winner and San Diego representative to the state competition: Kennedy’s Choice: Conflict and Compromise in the Cuban Missile Crisis by Lila

We are, needless to say, very proud of our historians- and of Michael and David for their ability to nurture and support this level of achievement in the context of progressive education.
